TIME IS ON YOUR SIDE
GET ALL THE TIME YOU NEED, AND MORE
I’m hankering a lounge in a chair to stare off into space. It’s on the list of one of my favourite things to do. No pressure, no commitments, nowhere to be, just exactly where you are.
We’re living in a world where time is thought of as a luxury, something that is out of reach for those of us who feel we don’t truly deserve it. In my day-to-day work with clients who are looking to run the show in their way, we hit the same blockers again and again; that there’s always a lack of time to do things. You see, we’ve got stuck in a rut of believing in the glorification of busy, and that somehow this is all supposed to be hard, oh, hello old limiting belief story. I include myself in this too. I found myself getting really quite agitated that I had allowed my diary to fill up so much that there is not enough time (there’s that lack story again), for me.
It’s an old story run on repeat. We believe that time is a ‘precious’ commodity that must be ‘spent wisely’ or it will ‘run out’. How many times have you found yourself saying, in the last week alone, that you haven’t got the time to do something, or that there’s just not enough hours in the day? I’m as guilty as anyone else, but I’m playing with my language to change this around.
Not even the greatest minds, such as Einstein and Stephen Hawking have been able to pinpoint exactly what time is. Our understanding of time in itself is a concept made real by a mechanical object such as a watch or a clock, which simply works to track a unit of measurement related to our concept of time. It’s kinda not real. The way we perceive time is different for all of us; some of us will see it as linear, moving through us and stretching out in front and behind. Whereas some of us will see it stretching out to the side of us going from one direction to another. And some of us will see it all together differently. And that’s just in the western world. Elsewhere on the planet, the concept time just does not exist at all. Phew, it can be all quite confusing.
The crux of this, is that whatever your relationship is with time, you can work with it to shift perceptions so that you have all that you need. Like money and love; time is an energy. The more we put loving grace around it, the more we understand that we have all we need, and more. Time, money, love is abundant, for us; it’s all in the receiving.
